Community Seminars

The Alzheimer Society of Canada defines Alzheimer’s disease as “a progressive, degenerative disease of the brain, which causes thinking and memory to become seriously impaired.” Alzheimer’s disease currently affects over one-half million Canadians; approximately one in 11 seniors has Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.

This seminar allows you to educate your patients and their caregivers about this devastating disease. You will take them through a presentation that explains what Alzheimer’s is, identify people at risk and review the medications used in its treatment.

Materials include a background refresher document for you, a PowerPoint presentation and a patient handout.
