How to Green a Pharmacy

In such a densely populated industry, pharmacies must differentiate themselves in order to be successful—and an effective way to do this is by embracing sustainable development.

In the following articles, Marc-André Mailhot provides the strategic and practical guidance you need to reduce your environmental impact while increasing your bottom line.

An experienced pharmacist—having served as a replacement in over 150 Québec pharmacies—Mailhot also holds a graduate degree in project management from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), is a LEED Green Associate®, was an Ambassador for the David Suzuki @ Work program, is a member of the Mouvement Québécois de la Qualité and the Canada Green Building Council, and has recently been recruited and trained by Al Gore as a Climate Leader for the Climate Reality Project. Over the past four years, he has acted as a consultant while developing a sustainability project tailored to pharmacies. This led him to found Maillon Vert (“Green Ties”), a consultancy that helps pharmacies to improve their social involvement, environmental performance and profitability.
