Community Seminars

About 20% of the Canadian population has hypertension, the medical term for high blood pressure—and an estimated 17% of these people are unaware of it. If they don’t take preventative measures, approximately 90% of Canadians will develop hypertension in their lifetime. The consequences can be dire: people with hypertension are at increased risk of a number of health problems, from heart attack to dementia.

This seminar allows you to educate your patients on their blood-pressure target numbers and identify lifestyle modifications they can make to reduce their blood pressure. By providing this information, you can reduce their risk of developing serious health problems—and help improve their overall well-being.

Materials include a background refresher document for you, a PowerPoint presentation and a patient handout.
